So one of my new years resolutions is to start to get in front of the camera more, it’s depressing to look back at the tons of photo albums I have and see how little I’ve actually been in front of the camera these past couple of years, but I want to change that, I want my kids to have photos of not just them, but them with me and their dad. Not just out usual Christmas photos either, just everyday we’re out having fun photos. I’m super lucky to have some super talented friends. Katie has been capturing my families photos since I was pregnant with Jax, and even though we now live on opposite sides of the country we’re still finding ways to meet up and get photos of each other
If you saw my last post you saw where I photographed her family, well she was super sweet enough to grab some of me and the kids, although Keeley was more into playing with Ally than taking photos with mom that was ok
we had fun and I’m slowly starting to learn there’s no point in stressing out about kids acting a certain way in photos, it’s more fun when they are themselves….

Shannon came and took some photos of us for Christmas along with
Emily both are local Va photogs and I love having them as friends and that they get my crazy ideas
I told them so I think I’m going to put the canoe in the field and try to make it seem like water… does that make sense, and they went for it
So if you’re thinking about having photos done, don’t think go do it! it’s so much fun to have, especially with your kids, to capture the little moments, it’s so worth it!
I can’t wait to share more with you all as the months go by!

(by the way all the quilts in the photos in this post I’ve made
I’m pretty proud of them, I’m not sure what the kids are going to do with all the quilts I’m making them but I really hope they keep them and hand them down to their kids
